Stockholm recording studio opened May 18, 1978. Name variations: - Polar - Polar Studio - Polar Studios - Polar Studio AB - Polar Studio 1 - Polar Music, Stockholm - Polar Music Studio - Polar Music Studios - Polar Music Studios, Stockholm - Polar Music Studios, Stockholm, Sweden - Polar Studios, Stockholm - Polar Studios, Stockholm Sweden - Polar Studio, Stockholm, Sweden Founded by and of and the band's manager in 1977. Its centrepiece was a Harrison mixing console, which was modified by technician to give it a unique sound, that in some respects resembled a Neve. In 1984, Stig Anderson bought out his partners in the company. Six months later, he sold the studio to his daughter , her husband , and their business partner . Staff known to have worked there includes: - mastering engineer - mastering and recording engineer The studio closed down on 1 May 2004 and relocated in 2007, when it took over the classic facility (rebranded as in 2011 under a new ownership). In the fall of 2015 business was scaled down and the equipment is currently packed in moving boxes at the home of Lennart Östlund, who still runs Polar Studios as a company.
